  1. 2010 medals have been ordered and received.  They are the same style as last year as that is what was liked by the majority of the league who responded to the survey.  Enough medals have been ordered to cover the possible split of the O3’s, and the Level 4 and Level 5 “Super” groups should we need them.
  2. CARA gymnastics will be doing a write up of the High School Gymnastics season and state meet results for the CPRA Bi-Line that will come out in the Spring to highlight how so many of the high school teams are composed of CARA gymnasts and how very well they did in the 2009 season.

  1. There is still much discussion on the Optional 3 division being split into age groups and at what participant number would we do a split.  The current idea is to lower the age group split number for the optional categories (not the compulsories) to 50 kids.  So at the point in time that 50 kids are in an age division the CARA league would look at splitting the age group.  I am currently in the process of trying to gather information from our past season to see what that number might mean for all the optional competitive levels to make sure that 50 is a good number to go with.  Once I have that information I will get it out to the league for their consideration.  I anticipate writing a formal proposal to address this situation by February to be able to put the proposal out to the league for their consideration and input.  A final vote on the proposal will happen at the League mandatory meeting.
  2. I will begin working on updating the CARA gymnastics website and preparing it to receive the 2010 information.
  3. The CARA Gymnastics league is facing some new challenges in the upcoming year.  Unfortunately Overland High School will be undergoing construction this upcoming summer and the league will not have access to this site for our regional and state meets.  Alternative sites are being investigated.  We would welcome any possible alternative ideas from our members.  If you have and idea or would be able to host one or both of these meets please contact Misty Gowdy at mgowdy@c3gov.com.

Please send your input to mgowdy@c3gov.com

  1. The CARA gymnastics league is proposing to raise the 2010 gate fees for spectators at the regular season gymnastics meets to $3 per person, and $5 per person for regionals and state.

The next CARA gymnastics league meeting will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Noon at the Commerce City Recreation Center, 6060 E. Parkway Dr, Commerce City, CO, 80022.  For questions or more information contact Misty Gowdy at 303-289-3660 or mgowdy@c3gov.com.
